Chapter 9: Reporting Standards for Performance Audits

9.01

This chapter contains reporting requirements and guidance for performance audits conducted in accordance with generally accepted government auditing standards (GAGAS). Reporting requirements establish the auditors’ overall approach for communicating the results of a performance audit. For performance audits conducted in accordance with GAGAS, the requirements and guidance in chapters 1 through 5 and chapter 8 also apply.

The reporting requirements for performance audits relate to reporting the auditors’ compliance with GAGAS, the form of the report, the report contents, obtaining the views of responsible officials, report distribution, reporting confidential or sensitive information, and discovery of insufficient evidence after report release.
